This course ensures that employees are adequately trained in accordance with The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005. The training includes a simple explanation on the nature of vibration, how it can cause damage, how levels can be reduced and health risks minimised.
Who should attend?
In order to comply with The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005, an employer must provide training to any employee who may be exposed to significant levels (i.e. above the Exposure Action Value of 2.5m/s²). The course is also recommended to managers who have specific responsibilities regarding health and safety, and supervisors who are required to enforce the necessary control measures.
Aims and objectives of the course:
To highlight the potential harm from vibration in the workplace and to pass on good practices to reduce the risk of hand-arm vibration syndrome. The course is particularly relevant for operators of hand operated power tools (e.g. hammer-drills,) or for those whose work involves holding materials being processed by machines such as pedestal grinders.

Duration of Course:
The course runs over a ½ Day period and is up to 3 ½ to 4 hours depending on the number of delegates attending the course.
Maximum Participants:
To ensure that all delegates receive the maximum benefit from our training courses, delegate places are limited to 12 per course.
Instructor:
The instructor for this course will be a certified instructor with over 3 year’s experience in Health & Safety related training.
Instructors are periodically assessed by our own quality control assessor, the client should be aware of this quality control assessment could be carried out without prior notice being given to the client.
Equipment required:
This course requires a training area/room with the facilities to comfortably accommodate the maximum number of delegates. The delegates will require a table and equipment to make notes and the instructor needs power and a place to show a presentation.
Assessment:
Throughout the course there is a constant assessment by the instructor who will ask questions about what he has covered in the course, some may be theoretical or some may be practical. At the end of the course there is a 30 question multiple choice paper to be completed by all delegates. A pass mark of 72% is set for all delegates. Once these papers are marked and delegates passed then they will proceed to a 15 minute practical assessment.
Certificate:
All delegates that succeed with the course will receive an A4 certificate of attendance that will be valid for 3 years.
