Health and Safety Training - Half Day Permit to Work Course

Every year different types of Industry throughout the world deal with large quantities of Highly Flammable/Toxic Materials & Electrical Products, so the potential for serious accidents is clear to see. To prevent them it is essential that safe systems of work are in place and with this course from AM Safety Specialists Ltd we will take you through the details which are required to make your working environment a safe place to work.

Who should attend?
Persons responsible for issuing permit to work and others responsible for working in the area while permits are in use.

Aims and objectives of the course:
To provide those persons who are to be authorised to issue work permits with an understanding of how an effective permit system should be managed.
To understand how their organisation's PTW system works.

At the end of the course delegates will:

• Understand what jobs require a PTW.
• Identify the essential elements of a PTW system.
• Demonstrate their understanding of the different tasks that may require a permit.
• Understand how a PTW should be effectively issued and controlled on site.
• Appreciate the legal issues relating to PTW and high risk work.
• Have the necessary information to start to implement their own organisation's PTW system.

Course Content:

Duration of Course:
The course runs over a ½ Day period and is up to 3 ½ to 4 hours depending on the number of delegates attending the course.

Maximum Participants:
To ensure that all delegates receive the maximum benefit from our training courses, delegate places are limited to 12 per course.

Instructor:
The instructor for this course will be a certified instructor with over 3 year’s experience in Health & Safety related training.
Instructors are periodically assessed by our own quality control assessor, the client should be aware of this quality control assessment could be carried out without prior notice being given to the client.

Equipment required:
This course requires a training area/room with the facilities to comfortably accommodate the maximum number of delegates. The delegates will require a table and equipment to make notes and the instructor needs power and a place to show a presentation.

Assessment:
Throughout the course there is a constant assessment by the instructor who will ask questions about what he has covered in the course, some may be theoretical or some may be practical. At the end of the course there is a 30 question multiple choice paper to be completed by all delegates. A pass mark of 72% is set for all delegates. Once these papers are marked and delegates passed then they will proceed to a 15 minute practical assessment.

Certificate:
All delegates that succeed with the course will receive an A4 certificate of attendance that will be valid for 3 years.
